Absolutely stunning house. Every room was stocked with everything you could need for your stay plus extras to make you feel at home. Lots of games provided, always something to do. Cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Owner was very nice and informative.

Fresh beds, a spotless chef’s kitchen, a hot tub and a pool/ping pong/poker basement that puts the best home entertainment rooms to shame. We check around for new rentals every year but somehow keep finding our way back to Kimball :) We couldn’t be happier with our stay and are already looking forward to next year!

This lodge is located by the 1st n 2nd hole on a beautiful golf course.. Gourmet kitchen, Lake Huron beaches are within 10 min drive. Gourmet kitchen, large bedrooms and bathroom. Everything is top of line.

So many beds to sleep in and the owners literally have everything you need. Cookware, spices, shampoo, soap, towels, garbage bags, paper towels, huge grill, yard games. It was great. Right on the golf course and you can walk to the clubhouse from the lodge. Great time had by all and can’t thank the owners enough for their desire to make everything so easy and allowing us to have such a great experience.

If it was warmer we would have taken more advantage of the beautiful deck and walkout patio also. Joe made sure to have firewood and starters out by the fire pit when we arrived. J T.Rented 2 nights for my out-of-town guests during my daughter's wedding weekend. Kathy met me upon check-in and showed me around her lovely home. This home was entirely stocked with every sundry from plastic wrap to shampoo and spices to coffee/tea. There wasn't a need to run out for anything I forgot to pack because Kathy had it! My guests were amazed at their accommodations for the weekend. While the weekend was chaotic and seemed to fly by, no one was in another's way at any time. My young adult children enjoyed themselves as much as the more mature guests. (We even "lost" a guest who went unnoticed relaxing on the deck away from the hustle & bustle of the photographer and bridesmaids.) Kathy was so kind to call me shortly after check-out to tell me I'd left a pillow and some luggage behind. Outstanding hosts! Although I never needed them, I felt totally comfortable to ask any questions had I needed to. My husband and I are already planning a return trip where we can just relax with extended family & friends and truly enjoy the peace and quiet that this unique home offers. Kathy was incredibly nice and made the whole process of renting the property very easy and comfortable. The property was immaculate. Everyone slept comfortably and it easily could have accommodated more people. We mostly used the pool table and the card table which were in good shape. Overall, it was a fantastic weekend. Our group loved the place and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This house was perfect for both of those. The kitchen is phenomenal. Top-of-the-line stove and incredibly beautiful. It’s packed with cookware spices and utensils which made so much easier. Beds were comfortable. Showers were huge. Wi-Fi was super fast. The game room was really really fun and spacious. My only complaint about the gaming room is that it was too much fun and I didn’t get any sleep :)

This is by far the cleanest VBRO property that we have ever stayed at! We spent a good amount of time enjoying the lower level amenities, including the outdoor fire pit. We loved the fact there is a fireplace on the main AND lower level. There were many quality hours spent with family, in front of both. Joe and Kathy were a pleasure to work with and very accommodating. We have several in our group who enjoy golf, and plan to return next summer. Awesome experience! Book this property. You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Due to our wedding party being down towards the city we thought it would be a nice idea to have a place for all of us to stay, for everyone to get to know each other, and boy did we pick the right place! Beautiful views, huge play room downstairs, hot tub, fire pit...it was magnificent. I loved that we were so close to our venue as it was a quick trip for our rehearsal and there was no need for a limo for us since the pictures were so scenic right where we were, their own waterfall, the brick stairs, and dock/bridge. Highly recommend!! One more added bonus, Joe and Kathy, the owners, are awesome to work with. Whether for a wedding or a golf outing, this place has it all!! Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

Andrew S.When I told my adult children, some with their own children that they would be sharing bedrooms for our family gathering, there was a little push-back. San Angelo Lodge accommodates 18 people in 5 bedrooms, mostly twin beds. My adult children arrived a few hours before I did and the text messages I received assured me that after seeing the Lodge, they would have no problem with their accommodations! It was lovely! Each was thrilled with the clean home, the furnishings and the great game room on the first floor that includes basketball, foose ball, ping pong, pool, a poker table, Lazy-boy arm chairs for many with a tv, and exercise equipment. Outdoors, there was a beautiful waterfall, hot tub, grounds fit for pre-wedding photography and fishing! My son grabbed his rod and caught and released 5 bass by the time we unloaded the car. I was sad that we did not stay long enough to enjoy a paddle boat or kayak excursion on the pond. The space is gracious and magnificent. We were able to host a catered meal for 40* on the deck and still there was room for the same number of people on the patio and even in the tiled garage, should we have encountered rain. The kitchen included 2 large coffee makers with plenty of mugs, refrigerator and mini fridge, microwave and 6 burner gas stove. There is a bar sink as well as a kitchen sink. There are plenty of glasses and a dishwasher. One of my favorite moments was to sit out on the little balcony of our bedroom overlooking the pond and golf course.
I wished we could have checked in earlier but we were right behind a large party that left at noon. If I were to do it again, I would be sure to have some down time to really enjoy the accommodations of San Angelo Lodge.

We were thrilled to rent this house with all of our closest friends. 80 percent of the guests lived out of state, so it was so nice to all be in one house instead of getting separate hotel rooms. Having this house seriously made our wedding unforgettable. There are plenty of sleeping arrangements, the basement is full of games (pool, ping pong, air hockey, basketball), and there is a fire pit and basketball net outside with plenty of seating. It's just an all around great time! We couldn't of asked for a better place to stay! The owners were nothing but nice to us when we arrived but gave us our space our entire stay. There was plenty of space for our group to be comfortable together as well as separate in different areas of the lodge. We used the hot tub, the games downstairs, enjoyed some music on the stereo, had a fire in the firepit, and made a huge breakfast with the fully stocked kitchen. Everything noted on the website about the property was accurate, including the reviews. The guests we invited were also very pleased with the lodge and couldn't say enough about how much they enjoyed it!
Kathy and Joe were very welcoming both before and after we arrived, both convenient to work with! Joe showed us around when we arrived and made us feel at home and not just guests. Both of them gave us complete privacy during our stay as well.
We would really like to return to visit the lodge again sometime in the future! It was an excellent experience all around!

Scott J.We stayed here for a family getaway with my 4 adult children and their families. Everyone was super impressed. This is our 10th year renting places from VRBO and The Lodge is by far the nicest place we've rented on VRBO.
The accommodations were excellent; each family had their own bedroom and were able to configure the beds the way that suited them. Most rooms had 4 twins which could be moved together to make kings or left a part to accommodate the children. The amenities were a nice surprise Cathy and Joe has stocked the kitchen with paper products, spices and condiments, along with every utensil, bowl, pots, pans, dishes etc. We particularly liked the warming oven and heat lamps, when cooking for a large group it came in handy. The amenities didn't stop there, every bathroom was well stocked with toilet paper, towels and toiletries including shampoo, body lotion, sun block etc. They also supplied beach towels for the hot tub.
The game room was amazing so many table games to keep us all busy. The outside sitting areas were also outstanding, many comfortable chairs arranged throughout the property on every deck and around the fire pit. The new gas grill with a direct gas feed was wonderful. We had a lot of fun fishing off the dock the pond the fish were really biting. We also enjoyed the paddle boat.

comfortable and convenient for Port Huron with great places to eat.
The kitchen has everything you need with pans and small appliances
and cute dishes.
Kathy has thought of everything to make your visit awesome. We had
ten women and we looked at but never used the basement because we
just didn't need the room with all we had upstairs. That said, the basement
is very cool with ping pong, air hockey and a couple of other game tables and
plenty of room to play.
We really couldn't have ask for more and are starting to plan our return visit.

Kathy is the Hostess with the Most-ess / she spend so much time and effort to make our stay wonderful.
She directed us where to go while in Port Huron / supplied us with all the little extras to make our stay comfortable.
She was there when we arrived to give us a tour of the lodge and a "how to" demo.
The Lodge was huge with so much to do and the location was gorgeous.
Our entire party would highly recommend staying at San Angelo Lodge!!!
Brian M.we had a fantastic time at the San Angelo lodge. We went for a U of M football game with a group of 8 guys. The house had everything you could ask for. We grilled, used the hot tub, and enjoyed the amenities the house had to offer. We had plenty of space and Kathy was very accommodating and nice. She was so willing to help with anything we needed and even called to pull some strings to get us a last minute tee time. I can't say enough great things about our experience. We hope to return next year for a Michigan State game! Thanks so much!

Sean B.Our group of 14 stayed at the San Angelo Lodge for a guys weekend. Simply put, we had an amazing time! Kathy and Joe were so accommodating and since they live in the attached apartment, they were always available if needed (although I should note that the Lodge had anything we could have possibly needed and as expected, they gave us complete privacy). The place is beautiful and easily fit our large group of guys. In fact, we didn't even use all of the beds available. Beyond the fun games found in the basement and mentioned thoroughly in other reviews, a highlight of our group was the fantastic fishing available. There's a dock and paddleboat available to take out on the abundant water around the golf course. A member of our group brought plenty of fishing poles and there was at least one person fishing from sun-up to past sun-down all weekend. We caught some nice-sized bass, pike, etc. and had non-stop bites - it was really exciting. There's plenty of room outside for lawn games and the adjacent golf course was extremely fun and challenging. We will definitely be coming back in the future and with some current construction underway in the basement, we cannot wait to see what the already amazing Lodge will become!
Nate N.We recently stayed at the San Angelo Lodge for a guys weekend.The owners (Joe and Kathy, who live on site) went out of their way to accommodate us and from start to finish, were a pleasure to deal with. The Lodge is perfectly set up for 16 individuals or several families with a MBR suite and 3 large, individual bed filled rooms. Everyone loved the amenities ...a full entertainment floor including Air Hockey, 'PopAShot', Pool table, Poker table, The outside patio seats 30+ with two fireplaces, a chipping green, hot tub with close proximity to (actually on) the golf course. The industrial type kitchen was fully equipped including spices, coffee, condiments and even paper plates, plastic cups and utensils. Other thoughtful gestures were the assortment of menus for local establishments, firewood, linens, towels and a BBQ sized for volume cooking. Highly recommend the San Angelo Lodge

The photos don't do this place justice! Top of the line kitchen and nice and spacious throughout. Wonderful and the location was convenient to all the places we needed to go...which included our families home in Port Huron! Will definitely be coming back!

hockey dadThis Lodge has everything you could possibly ask for, including indoor entertainment for the entire family. We had 4 dads traveling with their 4 kids participating in a Hockey Tournament, after a long season of hotels this is Truly a Magnificent Lodge with room to spare. The owner was more accommodating and always willing to assist in a late arrival and even grocery shop if we needed.
Being one of two homes on the golf course it was a great sanctuary to relax and enjoy friends. I recommend this Lodge year round.

Lots to do - the ground floor has poker, pool, basketball and foozeball. We had our family there for a reunion and Kathy and Joe could not have been more welcoming. Michael R.We had a group of ten gentlemen that absolutely loved San Angelo Lodge at Fore Lakes Golf Course. The Lodge has all of the ammenities that guys desire large deck over looking the water on the course, fire pit, pool table, foosball, poker table and hot tub!!! Since the Lodge is right on the course it was easy access to play our rounds at Fore Lakes which is a beautiful challenging course. I reccomend San Angelo Lodge to anyone interested in golf and relaxation or with a large group as the accomodations supports many with single beds. We will definitely be making this a yearly event!!!
Golf WeekendWe really couldn’t have asked for a better two day weekend. The owners went out of their way to make the stay as easy as possible for us. Amazing place, very intimidate and exactly as pictured online.
WaterfallWe decided to hold our (7th) annual Guy's Golf Weekend in Port Huron this year. We were not disappointed. The San Angelo Lodge is a beautiful spot to stay. All the amenities you require are on-site and included with your rental. The nearby course is accessible with a short walk and we had 2 fun 18-hole rounds while we stayed through the weekend. The owners were very helpful and courteous.
Due to the bunk-house sleeping arrangements in some of the bedrooms, this likely isn't the ideal couples getaway. However, for our all-male group it was fine.
There are some reno's in-flight so the Lodge is only getting better with age. We fully intend to come back next year.
Luc H.Kathy and her husband were so helpful it is unheard of. I constantly had questions leading up to the stay which were all answered promptly. They go out of their way to make the stay as easy as possible for you. They provide you with so many little things that your trip will become that much better. The layout of the property allows you to partake in so many outdoor games and still have extra lawn to work with. If you have someone in your group that likes to fish... drop a line in and after a few casts you will have a nice bass on the line. There are so many positives to this property that it's hard to fit everything into this review. You will not be upset if you stay at the lodge.
